Olá Per - Uno ! Bom Ano 2007
( assim retribuo a Per-Uno Agren e Britta os afáveis votos de bom Ano Novo e as palavras encorajadoras que sempre dirigem ao Museu do Trabalho e aos avanços da museologia em portugal )


Esta fotografia está, há muitos anos, suspensa numa molinha (como que suspensa no tempo) na minha secretária de trabalho, no museu. É uma fonte de inspiração . . . para o nosso quotidiano museológico. Um relembrar de filosofias do pensamento museológico, modelos expositivos, técnicas comunicação e estratégias de acção educativa, operadas no terreno, com as comunidades, nos museus da Suécia ( desde finais da década de 60 do sec. XX ) cuja aplicação pudemos constar e discutir in loco, numa visita memorável, meticulosamente programada por Per- Uno Agren, obreiro /timoneiro desta revolução na Museologia dos países nórdicos, que marcou definitivamente a nossa visão sobre a função social dos museus na contemporaneidade e as missões destes em prol do desenvolvimento e da cidadania.

Nesta foto, realizada em 1989, em Umea, aquando da visita aos museus da Suécia, figuram : Per-Uno Agren, a Ana Duarte, eu própria e a Clara Camacho ( actualmente sub-directora do IPM ) . O nosso colega e amigo, José Gameiro está mesmo à nossa frente, a tirar a fotografia ( a captar-nos a alma ... )

Per Uno Agren, docente de museologia, director e redactor da revista " Nordisk Museologi " , visitou várias vezes Portugal, aprofundou amizades com museólogos portugueses, elaborou relatórios sobre o estado da arte da museologia em Portugal, participou em diversos colóquios e debates, a convite de entidades museológicas e instituições portuguesas, colaborou intensamente em reflexões sobre o sentido dos museus e os caminhos da museologia, teve um papel primordial no avanço do pensamento museológico. A Museologia contemporânea deve muito a Per-Uno Agren ! Aqui fica o nosso tributo . . .

Museums on the digital stage

In Sweden a recent State Report has proposed the establishment of a digital Cultural network ('Kulturnät Sverige') on the Internet. In the preparation of the Report several hearings were arranged in 1996, among them one about the usefulness of such a network for museums. This text was written for that occasion. An attempt is made to define the unique qualities of the museum exhibition in comparison with other media of communication in the cultural field. It has been argued that museums have an obligation to use digital techniques to put their collections at the disposal of a global Internet public who could at any time enter the museum to take a look at its exhibitions and to study all its stored objects. However this availability has serious limitations; it lacks many of the basic aspects of the museum proper - the spatial experience of its galleries, the three-dimensional physical qualities - form, texture, colour - of its objects. The museum exhibition - like all performing arts - may seem to be a demanding medium, because it asks from us the tribute of a personal visit to yield in full measure its capacity to excite our senses and trigger our imaginations. Perhaps, in the future, successful hybrid forms of the 'real' exhibition and mediated images of it may develop, in the same way as literature, music and theatre have successfully teamed up with radio and television in specific new genres.
